Wednesday, 21. April 2010 - E.D.S.F. on rapid growth course - Spain as new member for the first time

Since the end of 2009 the E.D.S.F. European Door and Shutter Federation e.V. is located in Hagen/ Westfalen and registrated in the German register of associations. The last official location of the international association was in Trento, Italy. E.D.S.F. exists since 1985 and unites associations and manufacturers of doors, gates and drives under one roof.

onnected with the removal were the reorientation and redefinition of the aims and visions. Because of this it is more pleasant that some new members could be found: Now Germany is represented with new member associations "Association for drives and control technology for doors (Bundesverband Antriebs- und Steuerungstechnik. Tore (BAS.T))", the "Association for automatic doors (Fachverband Türautomation (FTA))" and the "Association for drives for shutters and sun protection (Industrieverband Antriebstechnik Rollladen und Sonnenschutz (IVA))". Since today there were only the German member associations "Industrieverband Tore Türen Zargen (ttz)", "BVT Verband Tore" and "Arbeitskreis der Überwachungsgemeinschaften für Feuerschutz-, Rauchschutz- und Schutzraumabschlüsse e.V. (AKF)".

In addition a Spanish member association, the ASOCIACIÓN ESPAÑOLA PARA LA PROTECCIÓN VERSUS INCENDIOS: TECNIFUEGO AESPI could be found - for the first time in 25-year old federation history. Tecnifuego represents different companies from the sector round about fire and smoke protection.

Concerning this the presidency, consisting of the member countries Germany and Italy, is particularly pleased, because it was possible to extend the international network now towards the south of Europe.

A long-term aim of the E.D.S.F is the European-wide expansion on countries which were not represented so far in the E.D.S.F.

Particularly the associations and companies from Eastern Europe are in the focus, in order to speak with one voice to European institutions and to cooperate in driving the international standardization work forward. In the eastern area the existence of associations is unusual however, besides associations also companies can become an extraordinary member in the E.D.S.F.

Due to the reorientation and the re-start, the current visions "Barrier-free accessibility", "Sustainability in energy saving by automatization and standardization" and "Safe and energy efficient performance with minimal impact on the environment" have to be pushed.

The next dates and activities of the E.D.S.F., who presents itself with a new logo and a completely revised Internet website in a new appearance, are the General Assembly on 29^th of June 2010 in Stuttgart, Germany and the international fair SAIE in Bologna, Italy, from 27^th -30^th of  October 2010.
